WIP women deepened their humanity on February 13, 2010 when they handed over some funds raised among themselves to assist victims of the Haiti earthquake with rebuilding.

Director General of the Belize Red Cross, Lilly Bowman was invited to a WIP training to receive the donation on behalf of the group.

In accepting the funds, Bowman expressed her appreciation and applauded the WIProject for their assistance to the cause. She ended on a congratulatory note for the "Women in Politics" initiative which in part, seeks to equip women with the necessary leadership skills and exposure in order to build their confidence to stand for office.

The January 12, earthquake which flattened several parts of the island nation, claimed 230,000 lives and displaced over a million people.
